How to deal with moisture resistance of outdoor led display

1. Moisture-proofing methods for outdoor LED display

1.1 Moisture proofing of fixed outdoor display

The temperature and humidity monitor should be equipped at the installation site of the outdoor LED display to monitor the humidity around the screen in time.

After the first rainy day or heavy rain after the installation of the display, it is necessary to check whether there is moisture, water droplets or vapor in the interior.

In the ambient humidity of 10% to 85% RH, display should be powered on at least once a day, and each time the display should work for more than 2 hours.

If the ambient humidity is higher than 90% RH or it is rainy season, the environment of the display should be dehumidified and the display should work normally for more than 4 hours per day.

1.2 Moisture proofing of rental outdoor display

If it rains during the use of the outdoor rental LED display, it must be powered off immediately. If it is too late to dismantle the display, it should be covered quickly with a tarpaulin prepared in advance. When it is sunny, take the cabinet out and dry it. If you are experiencing continuous rain, open the back cover of the cabinet and blow it dry with a fan. Then dry in a ventilated and dry room for more than 8 hours. Make sure to let the display work with low brightness for more than 4 hours so that the moisture in the electronic components is fully emitted.

2.Moisture-proofing methods for indoor LED display

2.1Moisture proofing of fixed indoor display

In the ambient humidity of 10% to 65% RH, display should be powered on at least once a day, each time ensuring normal operation for more than 4 hours.

If the ambient humidity is higher than 65% RH or it is rainy season, the environment of the screen should be dehumidified and the display should work normally for more than 8 hours per day. Doors and windows should be closed at night to prevent the screen from being damaged by nighttime moisture.

2.2Moisture proofing of rental indoor display

After each use, it should be immediately loaded into the flight case for sealed storage.

Each flight case shall be provided with a desiccant or hygroscopic bag of not less than 50g which shall be inspected regularly for failure and replaced every 2 months.

In the ambient humidity of 10% to 65% RH, the display should be taken out to work (video playback) for more than 2 hours every half month.

If the ambient humidity exceeds 65% RH or it is rainy season, the display should be taken out to work (video playback) for more than 2 hours per week.

During the use of the display, it should be protected from rain or water. If it is accidentally wetted, the water should be wiped dry and blown dry with a hair dryer. Turn on the display to work for 2 hours after it is placed for 2 hours.

It is strictly forbidden to use the rental indoor display as a rental outdoor display, especially in the open air.

The indoor LED display should avoid the front surface of the display being directly blown by the air conditioner. In an air-conditioned environment, it is necessary to pay attention to the switching of the display. When powered on, LED display should come before the air conditioner. Please pay special attention to that the air conditioner should come before the display when powered off, waiting for the indoor temperature to rise to the normal level. Dehumidify regularly.

In short, whether it is indoors or outdoors, the most effective way to avoid moisture damage to the display function is to use it frequently. The working display itself generates some heat and can evaporate some moisture, which greatly reduces the short circuit possibility. Therefore, the humidity has smaller effect on the more frequently used display than the less used one.
